The Easiest Way to Merge Multiple PDF Files

When contracts, reports or scanned documents need to become one file, here’s how to merge several PDFs in the right order.

Report chapters, bundles of scanned documents, a contract plus its attachments — scattered PDFs often need to become one. The method below merges them right away, with no install, no sign-up and no file size limit.

Merge right in your browser

Open the Merge PDF tool and add the files you want to combine. They aren’t uploaded to a server — everything runs in your browser’s memory, so it stays private.

  1. Drag in the PDF files, or click to select them
  2. Use the arrow buttons to set the merge order
  3. Press “Merge PDF” to download a single combined PDF

Tips for getting the order right

  • Naming files with a number prefix like 01_, 02_ keeps the order tidy as you add them.
  • You can still rearrange anytime with the arrow buttons after adding.
  • Set the output file name before merging so the download is easy to recognize.

If the PDF is password-protected

For PDFs that ask for a password to open, remove the password first, then merge. Protected files may not merge correctly while locked.

If you want to add images to a PDF

If what you’re combining is photos rather than PDFs, first make a PDF with the Image to PDF converter, then merge. See the guide on turning photos into a PDF for details.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is there a file size limit? Not in the service itself. But since it runs in your browser’s memory, very large files may fail depending on your device.
  • Can I merge only some pages? Merging is per file for now. Prepare a PDF containing just the pages you need first.
  • Is it safe? All merging happens in your browser; files are never sent to a server.
